Platster.com User Interface

As we continue to build out the functionality at Platster.com, alot of focus has been placed on ease of use. After developing a beta version and testing it with an audience, we realized that although our intentions were to bridge the communicative gap that exists between people and their community, we provided far too many features, initially. When starting any project or process there is always a learning curve, if the process is too difficult to start with, than people will usually just give up.

We have developed a user interface that in a few short blurbs provides an introduction and a purpose. In 3 easy steps you will be able to create your own custom map, post it on your website and allow followers to share your map.

Completed the UI

So I have pretty much completed the user interface and am ironing out some last minute issues. We will be moving over our beta version at www.clickmycommunity.com and re-skinning it under the new name. In addition we are simplifying the sign-up process to make it as user friendly as possible.

If you can't think of a reason why you might not need a personalized map, don't worry we will have a plethora of examples for you to choose to.

Platster is Born!

We have begun development of Platster.com. I am exited for the release of this product as it will help people organize and distribute information on the web by way of maps. Already we have seen the demand for maps grow quite significantly. GPS devices have grown in popularity and have become more affordable and new cell phones all come equipped with mapping software.

I am exited to share my thoughts as this project develops. We hope to launch sometime in the fall of 09.
